A new chapter for a historic tennis club

Woking Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club is one of Surrey’s most established multi-sport venues, with a long history and a strong reputation both on and off the court. As the club entered a new phase of growth, they wanted a refreshed identity and website that better reflected their values of community, inclusivity, and the highest standards. Their goal was to modernise their brand, strengthen engagement with existing members, and present a clearer, more welcoming digital presence for the next decade.

The Challenge
As the club entered a new phase in its history, Woking LT&CC recognised the need for a refreshed identity that better aligned with its values of inclusivity, community and maintaining the highest standards. Despite their long-standing reputation, the existing identity no longer fully captured the club’s forward-thinking vision. The challenge was to create a brand and online presence that would deepen engagement with existing members, attract new ones, and remain true to their heritage and established reputation as one of the UK’s leading clubs.

Our Work
Brand Identity
We began with strategic workshops to define Woking LT&CC’s core values. Drawing inspiration from Grand Slam and wider tennis aesthetics, as well as subtle references to the rich history of croquet, we crafted a heritage-led identity. The iconography, colour palette and typography were designed to feel both familiar and welcoming while reflecting the club’s ambition to continue delivering the highest standards. We also introduced a new range of social media assets and designed updated sales materials to support the brand rollout.
Website
We then translated the identity into a user-friendly website that serves as a welcoming portal for members of all ages. With a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, the site was optimised for mobile use and structured around simple, intuitive navigation. High-quality photography and a clean user journey helped position the website as a digital “shop front” that reflects the new brand and encourages stronger engagement.



The Outcome
Since the launch of the new identity and website, Woking Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club has seen a 25% increase in membership enquiries and over 60,000 site sessions, alongside overwhelmingly positive feedback from members. The refreshed brand has successfully positioned the club for the future, blending its rich history with a modern, engaging and accessible presence.
