Modernising a much-loved sports club
Horsley Sports Club is one of Surrey’s most well loved tennis and cricket clubs, known for its welcoming atmosphere, stunning surroundings, deep-rooted heritage and strong volunteer culture. With a reputation for high standards across both participation and facilities, the club recognised that its brand and digital presence needed a refresh to better match it's values as a club.

WHAT WE DID
The Challenge
Although Horsley was thriving as a community sports hub, the club recognised that its existing brand and website no longer reflected the warmth, professionalism and heritage that members experienced day-to-day. The visual identity didn't quite align with the high standards the club is known for amongst members and in the local community, and the website had become difficult to navigate and maintain. Horsley wanted a refreshed identity and digital presence that honoured its long history while providing a clearer, more welcoming experience for both current and prospective members. The aim was not to reinvent who they were, but to present a truer, more confident expression of the club.
Our Work
We began by spending time with the committees across the club to understand Horsley’s ambitions, its community role and the values that have shaped the club over generations. Through an in-depth brand workshop, we explored personality, heritage, tone of voice and long-term aspirations, creating a shared foundation from which the new identity would grow. With this insight, we developed a refined visual identity that balances tradition with a modern approach. A design system that feels confident, elegant and unmistakably Horsley. Care was taken to ensure the brand worked equally well on signage, digital platforms, event materials and member communications, giving the club a consistent visual language for the future.
We then designed and built a new website that brings the identity to life in a clear and accessible way. The structure was rebuilt from the ground up to make information easier to find and built so volunteers could update pages quickly and confidently.
The Outcome
The refreshed identity has been warmly welcomed across the membership, giving the club a stronger and more authentic visual presence that reflects its heritage and ambition. The new website has reduced administrative strain, improved communication with members, and provided a more engaging experience for prospective players discovering the club for the first time.
Horsley now has a modern, distinctive and future-proof brand and digital platform that proudly represents the heart of the club and supports its continued growth for years to come.
