Marketing
If you’re part of a football club, you will know that clubs live and breathe community. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a grassroots side on a Saturday morning, or a competitive team working their way up the league, every club has its own story. That story is built on people and passion, creating a unique club identity. But, in football - where attention is limited and expectations are higher than ever - how you showcase that story matters just as much as the story itself. That’s where football club marketing plays a key role.

A Structured Approach to Football Club Marketing
For many football clubs, marketing is reactive. That tends to look like a few posts the night before matchday, a quick update when there’s big team news and a scramble to promote an event when you’ve realised not enough people have signed up. It’s understandable, but it doesn’t build momentum, and it’s unlikely to have the impact that you’re looking for. We take a more structured approach.
Through ongoing marketing support, Wood & Ham helps football clubs to stay visible throughout the season. That means consistent communication, carefully curated content and a clear sense of identity across everything you share, from social media and blogs, to digital campaigns and club updates.

How we help
Frequently asked questions
Do you only work with professional football clubs?
Not at all. Most of the clubs we work with are grassroots or semi-professional. We understand the realities of running a club at that level — limited time, limited budget and a lot of passion — and everything we do is built around that.
We're a volunteer-run club with a tight budget. Can you still help?
Yes. We work with clubs of all sizes and we're always upfront about costs before any commitment is made. We'd rather have an honest conversation about what's achievable within your budget than overpromise and underdeliver.
We already have someone doing our social media. Do we need a full marketing service?
Not necessarily. Some clubs come to us for a complete marketing overhaul, others just need help with one specific area — a new website, a brand refresh or a campaign for a particular event. We're flexible and happy to work alongside existing volunteers or staff.
Can you help us attract sponsors and new members?
Yes — both are common goals for the clubs we work with. Good marketing makes your club more visible and more credible, which directly supports sponsorship conversations and membership growth. We can help you present your club in a way that gives people a real reason to get involved.
